PSI Perfect M2 at SEMA
The latest iteration – G87 – of BMW’s M2 certainly dived opinion with its looks upon release. With some time behind it and seeing the cars on the street opinions have changed and the performance aftermarket has seemingly embraced it given how many were at SEMA 23. Its combination of a manual gearbox and balanced chassis have had journalists comparing it favourably to the golden era of M3’s
We were quick to spot the potential of the M2 and set about developing a performance braking upgrade.
Florida based BMW tuning geniuses Precision Sport Tuning teamed up with MOTON suspension to build this gorgeous example. The car has received a colour change courtesy of Inozetek’s Amethyst Ashe wrap which we think looks amazing. The car has a whole host of upgrades from industry leaders, Eventuri, Adro, CSF and many more. The TAROX F2000 pattern can just be spotted hiding between the beautifully spec’d Vorsteiner Forged GTE-352 wheels.
The TAROX rotors for the BMW G87 M2 are based around our existing semi-floating road and track-specific two-piece rotors, the brief was simple: to produce a rotor and pad combination that performed better than OEM; allowing repeated hard applications (with no loss of power or fade); better pedal feel; and an ability to get up to temperature fast – crucial for a car that will be used on street and track
Our development engineers took a holistic approach – aiming to improve the braking system in every possible way – and we’re pleased to say they’ve nailed the original brief.
Using only the finest materials, each rotor is machined from a solid billet of high-quality steel, which is then heat-treated for extra strength. It is then manufactured with curved internal ventilation, featuring 20 directional ‘Venturi’ vanes – to aid heat dissipation. The rotor is then finished in either F2000 (curved slots, or Sport Japan (drilled and straight slots) configurations, with an ultra-tough, resin-based electroplated coating, which is normally only found on OEM chassis parts.
Each rotor front complete rotor weighs 12.3 – saving crucial un-sprung mass compared with the OEM items which translates into an immediate, positive effect on both steering and acceleration.

Key Facts
32 directional ‘venturi’ cooling veins accelerate hot gasses from the core of the rotor assembly by drawing in cool air to maintain thermal stability.
7.0mm shoulders creating an incredibly durable rotor which maintains strength and integrity even when approaching their minimum usable thickness.
Semi-Floating rotors use stainless steel bobbins with the float built into the hardwearing steel part of the rotor rather than the less durable alloy hat.
7075 billet hats are machined from aluminium and hard anodized for longevity.
Cataphoretic coating can be applied to the rotors to prevent corrosion on the un-swept area keeping the rotors looking amazing for their entire service life
12.3kg per rotor which is less than each OE item. This reduction in un-sprung weight results in improved cornering and acceleration.
